352 - 1 = Boxes, boxes, boxes

As I'm sure I've mentioned before,
I'm moving.

I'm moving, 2 times.
Hoping this will be my last 2 times until I buy the house I plan on raising my family in.

Technically I'm not moving 2 times,
but this one particular move is happening in 2 stages.

The first, is all of my furniture and a few boxes,
and my pup, Katie Bubbles.

The second is myself, and my car, from Long Island, (after temporarily living with my Great Aunt)
heading down to Florida for GOOD!

If you know Katie and know that I might be crazy
you should already know that I don't function well without her.
She is my snuggle bear, my light, my smiles, and always there for me!

She will be moving to her Grandma's house until June, so that I can finish my commitment at work.
I'm jealous that she will be soaking up the SUNSHINE down in Florida without me.

This goal is something that needs to happen the right way or else I might go insane,
 the goal....

PACK BOXES AND KEEP THEM ORGANIZED

It's not a very impressive goal,
but I know that this has been something I've been inconsistent with in my
23 other moves.

Yes I said 23 other moves...it's not something I'm especially proud of,
but I've learned  A LOT,
and I know that I don't EVER want to move again!

I can't say that I have accumulated THAT much stuff,
(except much large furniture)
in my 3 years of living here....
however, it's enough that it won't fit into my car for my move back,
like it did for my way up.

I picked up 4, yes 4, boxes from the liquor store the other day.
I had some friends tell me to check there...
they have small, sturdy boxes,
that are great for moves, so the boxes aren't
TOO HEAVY!

I do have movers coming to move some boxes and my furniture,
but I don't want them to be overly cumbersome.

So, yesterday, I began the packing process.
I began with my cookbooks, books, and files.

I took down some of my art,
and went thru my clothes,
emptying out a few drawers and shelves of things I won't need anytime soon.

Katie tried to help, but got a little lazy.

My closet seems so bare.

It is so hard to believe that I am moving in less than a month!

It's happening fast,

but,

It's all out there in front of us~

353 - 1 = Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!

"Salaga-doola, menchika-boola, Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. Put them together, and what have you got? Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. Salaga-doola, menchika-boola, Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. It will do magic, believe it or not, Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. Now, "Salagadoola" means, "A-Menchika-boola-roo," but the the thingamabob, that does the job, is "Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo."

" What in the world did I do with that magic wand? I-I was sure I..."
"Magic wand?"
"That's strange, I-I always..."
"Why, then you must be.."
"Your Fairy Godmother? Of course. Now, where is that wand? I- Oh! I forgot. I put it away."
- Fairy Godmother-Cinderella

Magic wand you ask??
Why yes, as a matter of fact, I have one!

I've used it in many occasions,
but this past week I found out that I'm going to get to use it
A LOT more than I have been.

I got to use it for my dear friends wedding,
and I use it regularly at work.
It's amazing,
EVERYTHING always gets done!!

Now, let me get something clear,
using my magic wand is not what this goal is about...
however, I might need to use it to accomplish this one goal in particular.

My goal~

KEEP A "SECRET"

Now this secret is not permanent,
it is to make sure all is ok,
but it is VERY HARD to keep.
I'm SO INCREDIBLY EXCITED about this secret.

I can't wait until I can shout it from the rooftops!!!!
The only clues I can give are...

 and

To the person who told me this secret,
it's safe with me,
even IF someone else knows and almost blew it!!
I am so honored to know this secret,
happy to be around to share this with you,
and I can't wait to use my magic wand on the regular!!
I love you dear friend,
I couldn't imagine life without you!
I'm so excited for you!!
XOXO times 2

It's all out there in front of us~

354 -1 = Skipping one, but coming back to it.

I'm thinking that in order to get a bunch of these done tonight,
that I might be jumping around in my numbers.

I have a few other goals written out above what this one is,
but I saw this one as an important one to start with.

I'll jump right out and say it~

GET BACK TO MY BLOGGING

As I sit here tonight,
looking at my list,
I have A LOT to write about.

I have continued to log in my journal, and write my goals down.
There are about 15 in there that need to be written about.

I'm not sure what has come over me to make my writing diminish.
Like I warned before,
I tend to get a bit busy aka lazy,
and the ability to be creative kind of escapes me.
I hope that once my schedule changes it will free up a bit more of that creativity.
I'm thinking that with moments to lay on the beach,
being with my babe all the time,
and working on the change of a lifetime (my lifetime),
I'll be pouring out the ideas.

343 days left in the year,
353 goals left to submit and complete~
Here I go....

It's all out there in front of us~

357 - 3 = Made with SUNSHINE

In an attempt to make up for lost time,
this might be a hefty post.
However, it might need to be broken up amongst a few.
We'll see how it goes.....

So it's easy to see how much I've been slacking this week.
I've been logging goals, trying to accomplish a few others,
and (as I warned you before) I became detained...
by laziness

I've been enjoying my week, not doing much of anything...
can you blame me with how cold it's been?

So, as far as my goals are concerned,
I have started goal making,
started the blog,
began taking more photos,
I've gotten the basics down for knitting,
sent out my first month of handmade cards,
and challenged myself to a crazy amount of running.

Considering my attempts, I haven't kept up with one of them,
THE BLOGGING
I'm finding myself going thru brief moments of disinterest.
It comes and goes...but tonight, it's here!
I'm sure this will be the case throughout the year.

Drum roll please.....
as I announce my next few goals.....

Number 356~

FINISH A GOOD BOOK ~ A FEW OF THEM!

I began my challenge of reading
(keep in mind, I like to read adventure books for young adults and children)
with a book that is co-written by one of my favorite authors,
Ridley Pearson
He wrote one of my favorite series,
The Kingdom Keepers
(it's about 5 kids who are chosen to keep Disney Parks safe from "Overtakers")
So I thought it couldn't be bad!
This book is the first in the Neverland Series.
It tells the story of Peter Pan...
I'm excited about what it has to offer.
I'm currently managing to read on my commute home on the train.
I alternate reading and knitting each commute.

My knitting is coming along...

Yes, I'm in a car there in that picture, but no I wasn't driving, I was sitting.
ALTHOUGH,
Learning to knit while driving might be QUITE the challenge ;-)
I will not be taking that on though,
SO THE WORLD IS SAFE!

I have a few knitting projects coming up,
I must learn a few more stitches,
and get some CUDDLY yarn.
Something tells me I need to just start cranking the knitting out!
Those projects will be well blogged about as soon as they have had their first stitch!

The cards are turning out very cute...
I'm wishing I had more supplies,
and even with an additional trip to the craft store this past weekend
I don't have EVERYTHING I need.
I'd like to accumulate a few scrapbooking things,
in order to make the cards everything they could be.
I am also finding out, that in these beginning stages,
the cards are individually costing less than buying them at the store,
but collectively costing more cause of all of the cute supplies I keep finding.

I am all set for the month of January on cards,
and next month there aren't many birthday's...
but there are 2 SPECIAL events that will require some creativity,
VALENTINE'S DAY
and
MIKE AND I'S 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Looking forward to taking pictures of these cards.
They will be very unique and made with
SUNSHINE!

The next few goals will be some sort of a FEAT!

EAT PROPER MEALS
&
FIX MY SLEEPING PATTERNS

These will be somewhat difficult for me,
a challenge of no end I'm sure.

I am finding myself up until WAAAY too late at night,
not to mention,
eating food during those late night hours.

I sneak Nerds, make sandwiches, nibble on chips,
make and eat boxed macaroni and cheese...
ALL AROUND MIDNIGHT!

I'm sure it is leading into my LATE night falling asleep.
SO the challenge will be to shut everything down earlier...including the computer.
I think it will be easier when I move,
leaving me more time for my knitting and reading.
Until then,
please understand it's for a good cause if I am not on the computer late at night.

I do get the proper amount of sleep,
a whole 7-9 hours on the regular...
but I don't wake up early very well.
I would like to just have a few more minutes to myself in the mornings,
and if I don't get that sleep in,
I'm a GRUMP!
This is why I am setting this goal.

I took a few sunshine pics this week too,
one in particular, I thought was REALLY cool.
I happened to catch a
SNOWY SUN SHOWER

The snow came as soon as it came....
leaving a beautiful sunset.

It is January 17th.
Ending it here, makes it 11 goals set so far.
 Like I've said before,
some days will contain 1 or 3 or even none.

As long as I keep the count up, the princess notebook, and my heart open to some changes,
the goals should keep flowing!

It's all out there in front of us~

357 - 0 = Keep moving forward

"Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." ~ Walt Disney

"Keep moving forward" is what I had to tell myself this morning when I woke up.

"Keep moving forward" is what I had to tell myself when I got home from work tonight.

"Keep moving forward" is what I had to tell myself when I went on my run tonight, in the COLD!
Can you see the theme here?

I'm not allowed to look backwards for very long,
I don't function well by doing that.

Last night I had a brief moment of frustration, and was in a bit of despair.
I am happy to say that it was purely a bit of crankiness within me that was making my goal "keeping" a significant amount more difficult to maintain,

I'm back....in FULL EFFECT!
Tired from a long day, but I'm back!

No goal in this post, as you can see...but I thought a little update might be nice.

I've been trying to take more pictures, as you already know....so here are a few that I've captured

I've also been getting my creative on,
so here are a few pictures to show what I've been busy working on

I'm learning, I'm creating, I'm doing.

Back to the craft store again this weekend to get MORE supplies!!

It's all out there in front of us~

Maybe a little frustration....

I'm feeling a bit depleted and defeated...
Not totally and completely.
I don't feel like quitting, just maybe I'm cranky.

I have gotten the basics down for my knitting
which is GREAT!
However,
tonight, I tried and I tried,
only to have the whole thing pulled out cause I knitted the tail into it!
A dumb mistake...

So tonight, the knitting needles will be going to bed,
as am I.

Hopefully I can fall asleep before 3am
(unlike the last 2 nights)

I'm thinking maybe a run is in store in the am.

Tonights post is brought to you by...
the letter S
for SLEEP!

Good night moon!

It's all out there in front of us~

358 - 1= ONE MORE FOR THE DAY

Just wanted to put one more little goal in for the day....

It's something I've been working on already,
but something that I would like to make a significant end to these goals I'm setting.

I'm already a runner...
I'm already registered to run in the
Walt Disney World Princess Half Marathon
in February
for the 2nd time.

But going on this weekend,
is the official
Marathon weekend.
My goal to finish all the goals in 2012 will be

RUN IN THE WALT DISNEY WORLD FULL MARATHON WITH A SPECIAL CHALLENGE OF COMPLETING THE HALF MARATHON THE SAME WEEKEND!
COMPLETE THE GOOFY CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Call me crazy, but I WILL COMPLETE THIS!

A 39.3-mile adventure held over two days, participants will run the Half Marathon on Saturday, followed by the Marathon on Sunday.

That will make my official metal count and race count a total of 5!
I'm determined~
"All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them" ~Walt Disney

Oh IT'S ON!

It' all out there in front of us~

361-3 = National Hobby Month

For those of you who don't know,
January is National Hobby Month!

Although I wear many hats,  I tried to think about what some of my hobbies are.
I thought, could it be running?  Cooking?  Smiling?
No, none of those things.
Those aren't REAL hobbies for me.
They are just things that I do that I enjoy.

So it lead me to write down something in my little notebook....

GET A HOBBY

Now, I know what you're thinking,
"When the heck does this girl have time to acquire a HOBBY?"
and
"What is she trying to do, KNIT?!?!"

Why, yes, that's EXACTLY what I plan on doing!

LEARN TO KNIT

It's something that I have been thinking about doing for quite some time now.
I kept seeing people on the train with their knitting needles,
making REALLY AWESOME knitted blankets, scarves, plush toys, and even SOCKS!

It sounds like something that old ladies do, but nope.....I'm doing it!
So here's what I'm setting as my goal to learn to make

Seeing is that I will be moving to where I'll have some time sitting on the train commuting to and from work,
I figured I'd learn it now, so I can have something to work on.
PLUS, doesn't that blankie just look so YUMMY!

I went online last night, not sure of where to start,
only to find MANY tutorials on how to learn to knit.
Step by step videos, and even written.

So, off to Michael's craft store I went today, with a mission
and SOME COUPONS!
Here's what I got

While I was at Michael's,
I set out to find a few more things for an additional long term goal I have for the year.

SEND ONLY HANDMADE CARDS FOR BIRTHDAYS, HOLIDAYS
AND SPECIAL OCCASIONS

With the cost of cute cards rising, I figured I'd save some money,
buying a few things in bulk, and some supplies,
so that I can design and send my very own cards!

Hopefully you will be lucky enough to get one this YEAR!
Keep in mind, these are EVEN better since they are made with
SUNSHINE!!!

So, off I go to learn casting, knitting, and purling....
and there are a few birthday's this month,
SO I better get to card making as well!!

Let the CREATIVITY BEGIN!!!!!!

Countdown recap~

Just to make things a bit easier,
I think I'm going to do a countdown recap every so often...

365 ~ SET GOALS FOR 2012, 365 OF THEM
364 ~ BLOG ABOUT THE GOALS, AND EACH OF THEIR OUTCOMES
363 ~ TAKE MORE PICTURES, ESPECIALLY OF THE SUNSHINE
362 ~ FIND THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE, AND TAKE PICTURES OF THEM

I have a sneaking feeling that
the last one will be VERY long!

It's all out there in front of us~

363-2 = Looking forward

Occasionally you will find that I am a bit of an overachiever...
I will often over compensate, to cover for my many moments that I am lacking creativity in my blogging or just the common occurrence that I get LAZY .
I say these things as I am typing my 4th blog post in only 2 days.

Having told you about my Princess notebook, I've since written a few extra goals down.
I'm not planning on disclosing ALL of them all at once tonight, but it leads into an opportunity to look forward.
Tonight, my goal is a long term one...one that should consume the entire year.

TAKE MORE PICTURES, ESPECIALLY OF THE SUNSHINE!

I'm hoping that with the help of that fore-mentioned "fancy schmancy" phone and with my 3 other cameras all charged up, I should be able to take photos like the one above, on the REGULAR!

I took that beautiful photo while working today.
Yes, that's the Guggenheim Museum on the left, and Central Park on the right.
5th Avenue, facing downtown, at 3:00pm
A beautiful shot of my favorite thing, the SUNSHINE!
Too bad it was still kind of cold out and I was working.

It's a challenge to find the finer things in life while working, but I think I accomplished that today.
OOOOOH, I just thought of a new long term goal...BONUS!!

FIND THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE, AND TAKE A PICTURE OF THEM!

" I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter."~Walt Disney

I guess getting as many shots of NYC in my last 6 months living here will be a great idea.
This will be a multipurpose goal!  I'm excited about it!
Better keep the cameras charged up!

Rooftop shots like this from my building won't be happening much after the end of February,

however, after June, shots like these

Should be A LOT MORE COMMON!!!!

Until June.....
ones like THIS will have to do

It's all out there in front of us!~

364-1= The little Princess notebook

Good morning SUNSHINE!!

I started to write this last night, but figured I'd hold off,
get a good nights sleep, and begin with the new day!
I always love a new day...it provides a brand new start...even when I hate getting out of bed!

Yesterday I had 2 goals in mind, that I actually kept to very well!  The first one you have probably already read, to set 365 goals for the year and stick to them! The second one, well, you are reading it right now.

BLOG ABOUT THE GOALS I SET, AND THEIR OUTCOMES

I started to write down my ideas into a little Disney Princess notebook that a friend gave me for my birthday.  It never has anything in it that makes much sense, just usually things that I think  of so I can remember what I was thinking about.  I've written about my running, things that annoy me on the subway, and about my goals (there's not much in it yet).  I try to keep it in my purse or day bag, with a pen handy as well.  Sometimes you can catch me just writing in it, while riding the subway in the morning, don't try to read it though, it's probably me writing about WHAT ANNOYS ME ON THE TRAIN and that might be you, Mr. Peeps!!

Don't get me wrong, I have one of those fancy schmancy cell phones that could probably compose exactly what I dictate, but there's just something about my little Princess notebook and pen.

I just walked the dog, it's not as cold as it was yesterday, and the SUNSHINE is out!!!!!!!
You know it's a good day when you don't have to wear a winter hat!
Hope you don't have to wear a winter hat today!

It's all out there in front of us~

365 - 1 = TRYING

So the first goal I have set for myself was to........

SET THESE GOALS, AND KEEP TO THEM FOR THE WHOLE YEAR!!!
I know that it will be hard to post 1 for each day (especially since today is the 5th of January), so whether there is 1 a day or 1 a week, my total will still come to 365.

I have chosen to write down each one, as I think of them, in a small journal that I plan to have with me at all times...this way it is a bit easier to remember what they were.  I will also try to log what each result was key word there being TRY.
I think I did a GREAT job with the start of goal number 1.

On to the next....
It's all right there in front of us~

I've got sunshine on a cloudy day....

"To all those who come to this happy place : WELCOME"~Walt Disney
A perfect quote to start what will be, what I hope, my greatest challenge accomplishment of 2012.

Welcome to the beginning of 2012 in my life.
Who am I, you ask?
I am Jilly.

Jilly Sunshine
I am a dreamer, a doer (of many, many things), a Disney & Scrabble & Mikey devotee.  I've been told that I'm also quite silly, cheerful, and sometimes a bit crazy!  I have the greatest friends, who mean the world to me, as well as the most delightful family.  My 2 BEST friends are my dog and my man (sounds like a bad country song).  I hate the cold, annually run as a princess, have fun in the kitchen, love to eat big meals once a day, live for the SUNSHINE, and my favorite color is YELLOW!

Enough about ME and ON to the reason I'm welcoming you to this blog!  I've made a commitment to myself to make 365 goals for this year!  It will be quite a challenge for me as I get easily distracted, detained and otherwise forgetful.
A person should set his goals as early as he can and devote all his energy and talent to getting there. With enough effort, he may achieve it. Or he may find something that is even more rewarding. But in the end, no matter what the outcome, he will know he has been alive."
~Walt Disney

 I couldn't say it better....

So HERE'S to 2012 ~ It's all out there in front of us!
